New Territories brings together a decade of Kofi Adjei’s suspended wire drawings and clay works for the first time in Madrid. Woven from copper, steel and recorded conversation, the works map the informal economies that move between West Africa and the Cape.
At the centre of the exhibition is a new commission, a room-wide lattice of steel wire that visitors walk beneath, its shadow changing through the day. The exhibition is accompanied by a programme of talks and a limited-edition publication.
